Qi Guangpu of China finally breaks through for gold as skaters stumble in his fourth Winter Olympics.

The Qi is 31 years old now, and he scores a stunning 129 in his final jump to win by a clear margin and of the Beijing Winter Olympics, give China their seventh gold medal. Speed skaters of China finished in the men’s 5,000m relay last on the closing day of the short track competition and women’s 1,500m finals.

On Wednesday, Qi Guangpu of china completed a Chinese freestyle skiing aerials double when he impressively won the men’s gold, after compatriot Xu Mengtao won the women’s event two days.

Record seventh title of the Beijing Winter Olympics of China, on day 12, though, failed to spark an expected gold rush after the short track speed skaters in the finals were unable to make their favored status count.

In the men’s 5,000m short track relay final, Ren Ziwei and Wu Dajing, known as Mixed team gold medallists, along with; Sun Long and Li Wenlong, finished last out of five teams at the Capital Indoor Stadium after Sun stumbled. Ahead of South Korea and Italy, Canada took gold, with Russia fourth.

On Thursday, the former double world champion won silver in the mixed team event, but there was no denying Qi. To finish well clear, he delivered a spectacular quintuple twister and nailed the landing for 129 points.
